Worship Lyrics
Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee
Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee,
God of glory, Lord of love;
Hearts unfold like flow’rs before Thee,
Op’ning to the sun above.
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness;
Drive the dark of doubt away;
Giver of immortal gladness,
Fill us with the light of day!
All Thy works with joy surround Thee,
Earth and heav’n reflect Thy rays,
Stars and angels sing around Thee,
Center of unbroken praise:
Field and forest, vale and mountain,
Flow’ry meadow, flashing sea,
Chanting bird and flowing fountain
Call us to rejoice in Thee.
Thou art giving and forgiving,
Ever blessing, ever blest,
Wellspring of the joy of living,
Ocean depth of happy rest!
Thou our Father, Christ our Brother
All who live in love are Thine:
Teach us how to love each other,
Lift us to the joy divine.
Mortals join the mighty chorus
Which the morning stars began;
Father love is reigning o’er us,
Brother love binds man to man.
Ever singing, march we onward,
Victors in the midst of strife;
Joyful music leads us sunward
In the triumph song of life.
Blessed Be Your Name
Blessed be Your Name
In the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be Your name
When I’m found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed be Your name
Every blessing You pour out
I’ll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in
Lord, still I will say
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed by the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name
Blessed be Your name
When the sun's shining down on me
When the world's all as it should be
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name
Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in
Lord, still I'll say
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name
You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord blessed be Your name
Every blessing You pour out
I’ll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in
Lord, still I’m gonna say
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name
You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord blessed be Your name
Responsive Reading (from Matthew 6:25-34)
Leader: Therefore I say unto you, take no thought for your life, what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor for your body, what you will put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body more than clothes?
Congregation: Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they?
L: Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take you thought for clothes?
C: Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
L: Wherefore, if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
C: Therefore take no thought, saying, What will we eat? or, What will we drink? or, How will we be clothed?
L: (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things.
C: But seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
L: Take therefore no thought for tomorrow: for tomorrow shall take thought for the things of itself.
C: Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
L: The Word of the Lord.
C: Thanks be to God!
Praise to the Lord the Almighty
Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!
O my soul, praise Him, for He is thy health and salvation!
All ye who hear, now to His temple draw near;
Join me in glad adoration!
Praise to the Lord, who o’er all things so wondrously reigneth,
Shelters thee under His wings, yes so gently sustaineth,
Hast thou not seen how all thy longings have been
Granted in what He ordaineth?
Praise to the Lord, who doth prosper thy work and defend thee,
Surely His goodness and mercy, He’ll daily attend thee
Ponder anew, what the Almighty can do,
If with His love He befriend thee.
Praise to the Lord! Oh, let all that is in me adore Him!
All that hath life and breath, come now with praises before Him!
Let the “Amen” sound from His people again;
Gladly for aye we adore Him.
Great Is Thy Faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father,
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be.
Chorus: Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed, Thy hand hath provided.
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me!
Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.
Chorus
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide,
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow:
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
